Professional industrial pipe welding
Porin Teollisuusputki is a company founded from a business unit of Kalmeri Ltd. During the last three decades, it has become the market leader in industrial pipe welding in the Satakunta region. In 2004, emloyees from Karhuputki Ltd. moved over to PTP's staff and changes occurred in the company's shareholder base as well. Karhuputki is remembered for several large projects, such as the piping of the coating kitchens and wastewater treatment plants of Metso Ltd.'s new paper factories around Europe, and the pipe bridges of the Harjavalta industrial park as well as the piping of the park's chemical plant.
In June 2012 PTP moved its business into new premises, which include a 2000 square meter industrial hall and 400 square meters of social and office space. The work space equipped with two 12.5 ton cranes accommodates for large components to be manufactured according to a client's specifications.
In winter 2013 Porin Teollisuusputki expanded their product selection by buying Projektimuovi Ltd.'s equipment and the productive business operations of Watergroup Ltd. Their staffs moved over to PTP's service as old employees. Due to the acquisition PTP is able to offer their clients all the services related to industrial piping.
PTP employs around 70 people. The company's strength is based on the know-how of experienced professionals, and the ability to lead and manage projects and work tasks in changing circumstances. Clients appreciate the ability of PTP to flexibly adjust to sudden changes in projects or work requirements. The company is also viewed among its clients as a trusted professional of maintenance and repair.
A network of expertise
In addition to its own business activities, PTP also has cooperative relationships with Pirkanmaan Teollisuusprojekti Ltd. and Geoputki Ltd. Pirkanmaan Teollisuusprojekti focuses on automation and process design, and was for example responsible for the implementation of Sun Chemical Ltd.'s new proportioning system as an EPC contract. The business activities of Geoputki consist of two fields: providing geothermal heating systems as well as heating, plumbing and ventilation. The company strengthened its position in heating, plumbing and ventilation engineering in spring 2013 by acquiring Vesijohtoliike Erkki Mäkinen Ltd. which had been active from 1968. The cooperation allows for reliable and carefree EPC contracts for clients.
